    Resume Parsing
    Hello,

I’m looking for Resume Parsing libraries and am not having much luck finding any, so I’m hoping the community here can help. I have see the many SaaS resume parsers, however, I would like a self contained parsing library for our low volume application. I’d prefer a Java library and even more prefer an open source alternative, but will take what I can find. Any help in finding libraries that can help would be great!

    Thanks
    Andrew

    • Hello,
Resume Parsing libraries are not provided by the HR Open Standards Consortium, but they are provided by private companies with their own technology (to support various languages, regions and formats) that must be licensed. I don’t believe that there are many useful or credible free/open source libraries. Many of the providers might export the results in an HR-XML standard (i.e. Resume 2.x or Candidate 3.x are common).

I will not recommend any specific ones but I can suggest investigating Talemetry, Sovren, Textkernel, rChilli, Burning Glass, and Daxtra.

      Regards,
      Andrew.

    • Thanks Andrew. I have been talking to all of those companies, but was hoping to find alternatives to the big companies. Do you know of any companies that are implementing the Candidate 3.x standards? It seems everyone is stuck using the 2.x standards.

    • Hello, Andrew
I am not aware of any specific resume parsing providers who have adopted the Candidate 3.x standards. When the technology was recently adopted most of the vendors and the major ATS agreed upon Resume 2.5 or Candidate 2.5.

      Regards,
      Andrew.
